X-Men’s mystical side takes center stage in new ‘X-Orcists’ series November 2026 • AIPT

Marvel Comics is diving deeper into mutant magic this November with X-Orcists, a new five-issue limited series from writer Ashley Allen and artist Germán Peralta. Reuniting after their work on Magik and Magik & Colossus, the creative team returns to Illyana Rasputin for a supernatural adventure that pits the X-Men against a terrifying demonic threat with ties to Limbo.

The series sees Magik confronting a new nightmare after a powerful demon escapes Limbo and begins attacking both humans and mutants. While Illyana has faced horrors from the realm she once ruled before, this enemy proves unlike anything she’s encountered. To stop it, she’ll assemble an unlikely team featuring fellow X-Man Juggernaut, Limbo’s current ruler Madelyne Pryor, and other mystical heroes. Standing in their way is the return of a major X-Men villain whose plans threaten to reshape the future of mutant magic.

Allen says the new series continues themes she has been eager to explore throughout her time writing Magik.

“Round three, baby! In all seriousness, I’m incredibly grateful to continue this journey with Germán and the rest of the Magik team, telling the story of a character so close to my and fans’ hearts,” Allen said. “Magik and Madelyne are both women who have been told what their paths should be, only to choose their own destinies. Exploring this has been such a powerful and rewarding experience and I’m excited for fans to see these two characters reclaim their power, evolve from their pasts, and discover what it means to truly wield themselves.”

Peralta also expressed his excitement about returning to the X-Men’s supernatural corner alongside Allen.

“If you had told me as a kid that I would be drawing X-Men comics, I wouldn’t have believed it,” Peralta said. “This is a special X-Book exploring the mystical and dark side of the mutant world. What more could I ask for? Well, I think just one thing, and luckily, that happened too: having Ashley Allen again as the writer!”

He continued:

“I really enjoy working with Ashley. She perfectly understands the characters, not just their powers and how to use them, but also their emotions and motivations. I couldn’t imagine a better partner to embark on this new journey with our beloved Illyana. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we are making it.”

Marvel also unveiled the first covers for X-Orcists #1, including artwork by Ben Harvey, Dike Ruan, and Russell Dauterman, which you can see below.
