What Does Hallelujah Mean? Why God Is Worthy of All Praise
Revelation 19:1: “After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: ‘Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.”
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
God is worthy of all honor, all glory, and the highest praise!
Sometimes, when I think about how good God has been to me, all I can do is shout, Hallelujah!
He has been faithful. He has been good. He has kept me, strengthened me, and carried me through moments when I didn’t know what to do. When I look back over my life, I can see His goodness.
What Does Hallelujah Mean?
The word hallelujah is the highest praise to God. He is worthy of our worship, honor, and thanksgiving.
Hallelujah shows our gratitude, appreciation, and love for God, and all that He is to us.
When God makes a way, Hallelujah!
When He answers a prayer, Hallelujah!
When He gives us strength to keep going, Hallelujah!
And even when we are waiting for our breakthrough, we can still praise Him with a Hallelujah!
God Is Worthy of the Highest Praise
Psalm 113:3 says:
“From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.”
Our praise should not depend only on what God has done for us. We praise Him because of who He is.
He is faithful.
He is merciful.
He is loving.
He is our provider.
He is our strength.
He is our peace.
He is our Savior.
Let Your Praise Be Your Testimony
There are times when we may not have the words to explain everything God has done. But we can praise Him.
Sometimes your greatest testimony is simply:
“God has been good to me.”
So today, I choose to praise Him.
I choose to remember His goodness.
I choose to lift up His name.
And I choose to say it again:
HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!
God is worthy of all honor, all glory, and the highest praise.
Lord, I thank You for being so good to me!
A Prayer of Praise
Father, thank You for Your goodness and Your faithfulness. Thank You for every blessing, every answered prayer, every open door, and even the things You are doing that I cannot see yet. Help me to keep a heart of praise in every season. May my life continually bring honor and glory to Your name.
