This Non Alcoholic Hot Toddy is a cosy winter drink made with crisp non alcoholic apple cider, fresh ginger and lemon juice. With no added sugar and ready in just 3 minutes, it is a warming alternative to a traditional hot toddy when you want something alcohol-free.
About This Non Alcoholic Hot Toddy
I love this non alcoholic hot toddy when I don’t feel like drinking alcohol and I also feel like this is the most healthful hot toddy and for those that really want to address any cold symptoms (because alcohol does dry you out). This version uses a crisp non alcoholic apple cider as well as the other powerhouse for colds: fresh ginger and lemon juice.
Why This Recipe Works and Why You’ll Love It
-
There is no added sugar.
-
Non alcoholic apple cider gives this a crisp edge that apple juice lacks.
-
I serve this in an aluminium lined Moscow Mule copper mug, which is typically used for frosty cold drinks but also works perfectly to keep the drink warm as copper is a great conductor of temperature.

Ingredients For Non Alcoholic Hot Toddy Recipe
Non alcoholic apple cider – I used one by Bilpin Cider Co which is crisp and refreshing.
Lemon juice – Fresh lemon juice is best for hot toddies for the Vitamin C.
Ginger root – Use a knob of fresh ginger root, thinly sliced.

Recipe Overview
Preparation time: 1 minute
Cooking time: 2 minutes
Serves: 1
Ingredients Needed
- 330ml/11.6fl oz non alcoholic apple cider
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 4 slices fresh ginger root
Step-By-Step Instructions
Step 1 – Heat the apple cider (330ml/11.6fl oz non alcoholic apple cider) in the microwave (not in the Moscow mule mug) or on the stovetop. The bubbles will still be apparent even with heating. Pour hot water into a glass or mug and swirl to heat up the glass. Discard water and add in the warm apple cider. Stir in the lemon juice (1 tablespoon lemon juice) and ginger root (4 slices fresh ginger root).
Step 2 TASTE – Taste for balance. Everyone is different and you may like your hot toddy more lemony or with more ginger!
