Kabushikigaisha Magilumiere (Second Season) – Episode 8 – Believe In the Power of Igni

Things are not looking gooed as Sakae is unconscious.

With a bunch of festival-goers, Akane, Iroha, Hibiki, and Sakae were stuck inside a barrier with Sakae unconscious. However, can Hibiki turn things around before it’s too late?

From last time, Sakae collapsed after dealing with a strange Kaii that appeared out of nowhere. As Nikuyama tries to help Hibiki and suggests that she lend Igni’s power to Akane and Iroha to use. Hower, Hibiki doesn’t think it will work out, saying it’s dangerous and Sakae is the only person who worked with it. Still, Nikuyama is confident he can pull it off as he converted Igni to a physical form, so he is confident Hibiki can pull it off. Of course, the communication got interrupted.

Sadly, Nikuyama lost connection.
The first try didn’t work out and they lost transformation.
Akane took a risk as she experience some pain.

The entire plan is to use Igni to replenish the magic powers for Akane and Iroha. However, the first try didn’t go so well, and eventually Iroha and Akane untransformed as the Kaii took all their magical powers. However, with Hibiki making some tweaks to the code and Akane using herself as a decoy, Iroha and Akane could finally take the magical power from Igni. Afterwards, they set up all the magical circles, and quickly too.

They managed to pull it off.
Igni decides to sacifice itself.
Sadly, the suspicious man’s plan didn’t go quite as planned.

Eventually, they activated it, and it was enough to defeat the Kaii, as Igni seemed to have sacrificed itself to finish it. Either way, it makes you wonder why the suspicious guy even bothered deploying a Kaii when Magilumiere can eventually bring it down. Like Tsutsumi, the suspicious guy’s plan went up in flames.

While Sakae regained consciousness, Hibiki broke the bad news about Igni. Even while Hibiki was dealing with the Kaii, there is a flashback where the shrine leader wants to retire Igni. He saw it as a burden on Sakae, as it takes a lot from her, requiring two weeks of recovery. However, Sakae doesn’t want to give up on the summoning of Igni as she is confident that Hibiki can pull it off, converting the Kaii to physical form. Even the shine leader was against it, but able to convince them.

Sadly, Igni has lost all its magic, and Hibiki is not sure how to recover it, though Sakae remains safe. With Hibiki possibly losing Igni, concerned about Sakae’s safety, and the barrier being damaged from being hacked, he is not confident in his skills. As a result, he plans to turn down all job offers. However, Sakae doesn’t think Hibiki should give up as she knows he is having fun with that company.

Sakae doesn’t want Hibiki to give up on Magilumiere.

Sure, he lost confidence in his skills and only dragged everyone down. Sakae thinks Hibiki can still do it, as nobody becomes an adult off the bat. She thinks he has a place where he won’t be alone and should try it. She wants him to grow up there and then come back. Eventually, Kaede came back to pick up Hibiki to help address the situation. I guess there is probably more that Shigemoto wants to know about the situation since the Kaii seems like a new type, well rather the man-made kind.
