Your Essential Guide to Wedding Invitations

3. You can never give too much advance notice.

Typically, couples aim to send out their save-the-dates approximately six to eight months before the wedding. This allows guests to pencil the date into their calendar before receiving all of the nitty-gritty details. However, if you already have a date and venue solidified, there is never any harm in sending them out early!

Invitations, on the other hand, typically go out about 8-12 weeks before the wedding, sometimes earlier if it is a destination wedding. This timeline gives guests plenty of time to clear their schedules and make travel arrangements based on the final timeline you provide. Don’t forget to factor in production time – stationers typically need a minimum of a month to create your invitations!
