CBC’s French-language streaming service ICI Tou.TV added the first season of My Hero Academia to its paid Extra-tier. The site’s listing suggests the first thirteen episodes launched on July 14th, with it coming from Sony. The show marks the second anime series to stream on the service. In early 2025, ICI Tou.TV began offering Goldorak U. Both shows are streaming with their French dubs.
My Hero Academia was adapted from Kōhei Horikoshi’s 2014-2024 Weekly Shonen Jump manga series of the same name. Produced by Bones, the anime spans 170 episodes across 8 seasons, airing between 2016 and largely wrapping up last December. The property has since received multiple theatrical films and a spinoff series.
Funimation, and later Crunchyroll, streamed the original series as it was being aired in Japan. In French-speaking Europe, the series was originally streamed on ADN before moving to Crunchyroll with the sixth season. The French dub, produced in Paris, initially debuted through a home video release by Kaze in 2017.
In an update to our last French-specific post, the first 26 episodes of Demon Slayer and Hunter x Hunter (2011) are now streaming for free on TV5 Unis. Contrary to the initial schedule info, it appears the channel will repeat the first season of Demon Slayer after it concludes on September 21st. Season 2 is now set to start on October 4th. Hunter x Hunter will continue its run without breaks. Frissons TV’s Deadman Wonderland and Shigurui reruns end this weekend. The channel has slotted another airing of the Berserk: The Golden Age Arc film trilogy in the 7PM slot for the following weeks.
