The constraints of our current home
For 25 years, Animal Aid has operated on rented land, working within the limitations of our existing infrastructure. As calls to our rescue helpline continue to increase and more animals need our help, our hospital has reached full capacity. Every day, our teams face the challenge of organising limited space to meet the individual needs of the animals in our care.
In this behind-the-scenes tour, Claire shows you how we manage the treatment of around 300 dogs in our dog hospital, where dedicated, calmer and quieter spaces in our new hospital will make a meaningful difference to dogs on their healing journeys.
We then visit our large animal hospital, where around 100 cows, bulls, donkeys and buffalos are recovering from injuries sustained while living on the streets of Udaipur.
For animals who arrive unable to stand, having a comfortable space to recover and receive regular assistance is essential. Ideally, recumbent cows and bulls need help to stand three to four times a day. Currently, because our staff must lift each animal manually, we are only able to do this once a day.
