A Fannie Bay home has set a new sales record for 2026, selling off market for $3.9m after a mammoth renovation.
The property at 2 Scott St, Fannie Bay, sold last week with property records showing it was the most expensive residential transaction of the year so far.
Selling agent Nick Scaturchio of Pacific Property Darwin said the home, which sits on the corner of East Point Rd and Scott St, was snapped up by a local family before it could hit the market.
“We put a ‘coming soon’ sign up on East Point Rd and had a few inquiries, including one in particular from this local family who absolutely loved the house,” he said.
“They’re now owner occupiers.”

Property records show the home last sold in 2022 for $1.4m.
Mr Scaturchio said the vendors fully overhauled the 1555 sqm property from top to bottom between 2025 and 2026.
“It was very much of original 1970s era,” he said.
“The house was impeccably renovated to a high standard throughout with state-of-the-art modern fixtures and fittings, including a new Swedish glass swift lift, a wine room/cellar holding over 200 bottles on display and a theatre room with a 120-inch screen.
“While contemporary crocodile wallpaper imported from the UK brought a touch of luxurious Territory flair.”

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom house also features ocean views, New York marble benchtops, electric blinds and a library.
Mr Scaturchio said the sale showed there was good confidence in the high end of the Darwin property market.
“The fact that it was a local buyer, certainly demonstrates that confidence,” he said.
The previous 2026 top residential sale was 4 Emery Ct, Larrakeyah, which sold for $3.8m in March.
The property at 7 Larrakeyah Tce, Larrakeyah, also sold for $3.45m in May and 114 East Point Rd, Larrakeyah, sold for $3.4m in January.
