Theme: Navigating the Wild: Law, Technology and the Architecture of Accountability

About the Institutions

  • IIT Kharagpur: Established in 1951, India’s first IIT, recognised as an Institute of Eminence in 2019. It pioneered the integration of law and management into a premier technology framework.
  • RGSOIPL: Established in 2006, India’s first law school within an IIT. Ranked first in Legal Research nationwide (NIRF 2024). Offers LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., Ph.D., and Master’s in Public Policy & Governance. Its scholars publish with Oxford, Cambridge, Wiley, Springer, SAGE, Taylor & Francis, and Brill.

The Theme

The Colloquium explores accountability in a fast‑changing technological environment where autonomous and opaque systems challenge traditional legal frameworks. Five Frontiers of the Wild:

  4. Synthetic Biology
  5. Semiconductors

Objectives

  • Provide a peer‑reviewed platform for research scholars.
  • Advance interdisciplinary discourse on accountability at the law‑technology interface.
  • Encourage rigorous, publishable research outputs.
  • Reinforce IIT Kharagpur’s visibility during its Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Programme Highlights

  • Day 1 (30 Oct): Annual Research Scholars’ Day – presentations, peer feedback, methodology sharpening.
  • Day 2 (31 Oct): Thematic Colloquium – workshops, round tables, plenary sessions, paper and poster presentations, World Café.

Call for Extended Abstracts

  • Length: 500–800 words (excluding cover page, title, keywords).
  • Format: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing, justified.
  • Authorship: Max. two authors per abstract. Blind peer review.
  • Submission: Microsoft Word (.docx) via Google Form only.
  • Deadline: 15 October 2026 (rolling acceptance within 48 hours).

  • Students/Research Scholars: ₹750 (India), USD 15 (SAARC), USD 50 (Non‑SAARC).
  • Faculty/Industry: ₹1,500 (India), USD 50 (SAARC), USD 100 (Non‑SAARC).
