Rick Remender and Jonathan Wayshak’s ‘Devolution’ #1 • AIPT

Welcome back to another edition of Free Comic Friday, where AIPT gives readers the chance to dive into a full comic book issue for free!

This week, we’re turning back the evolutionary clock with Devolution #1, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure from writer Rick Remender (Black Science, Fear Agent), artist Jonathan Wayshak (The Authority), and colorist Jordan Boyd (Ant-Man, Planet Hulk). If you enjoy it, consider backing Dynamite’s recently released Halloween/Horror humble bundle!

Imagine a world where evolution has suddenly gone into reverse. Every living creature on Earth has devolved into strange mutations and prehistoric versions of itself, leaving civilization in ruins. Cities have become bloody battlegrounds ruled by tribal Neanderthals riding mammoths, while saber-toothed tigers and giant man-eating insects roam the landscape.

It’s a nightmare for humanity, and things aren’t looking particularly promising for anyone hoping to survive.

Amid the chaos, a small group of humans known as the “Still Sapien” remains unchanged. They’re humanity’s last hope, embarking on a dangerous journey to locate an antidote that could reverse the catastrophe and restore the human race.

With Remender’s knack for ambitious science fiction and Wayshak’s artwork bringing this terrifying prehistoric world to life, Devolution offers a wild vision of what happens when humanity loses millions of years of progress in an instant.

Can the last surviving humans find a cure before they’re wiped out by a world that’s become almost unrecognizable?
