Hello, and welcome to another weekly wrap up (13/05). The weather has been beautiful here in Edinburgh, and it’s really encouraged me to read more! So let’s see what I got up to last week!

Books Read

Gallant by V.E Schwab

Finally! I hear you all cry, she has finally finished Gallant! I did it, I listened to the end of this fairytale novel last week. It was enjoyable, I liked it, I thought it was clever, and packed a lot into a short number of pages!

The Decagon House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji

This is one of Pushkin Press’ Japanese crime novels, and I liked it. It’s a locked room mystery, based off And They Were None by Agatha Christie!

I Am Wolf by Alastair Chisholm

I was lucky enough to get a proof copy of this novel from Nosy Crow, and I knew I was going to love it! Humans live in giant metal creatures who have to fight each other for territory! Loved it!

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

The last book I read last week was a library hold that I’ve been recommended by a number of people. This is an interesting standalone sci-fi thriller, with a very fast-paced plot.

Currently Reading

Magicalia by Jennifer Bell

I’ve been excited for this book since I read the blurb, and the publisher very kindly sent me a copy!

Poor Things by Alasdair Gray

This is my new audiobook listen for the next few weeks! I’m about half way through already, and I’m liking it but not loving it. I haven’t seen the movie, and don’t think I would like it, but the book is interesting so far!
