Lu applies eye-drop antidote on Shin, steady and precise. Meanwhile, Taro presses Tatsu, demanding to know who hired him. Tatsu smirks, asking if telling the truth would buy his freedom. Lu doesn’t bother with the banter—she grabs Tatsu’s poison-coated knife and drives it straight into his shoulder. Calmly, she starts wasting the antidote, letting drops hit the ground one by one. “Start talking before it’s all gone,” she warns.
Tatsu doesn’t hold out long. “Dondenkai LTD., the assassin agency,” he blurts. Shin raises an eyebrow, unimpressed. “That was fast. So much for your fearless act.” But Tatsu shrugs it off, admitting he has no loyalty to the agency and isn’t looking to die anytime soon. Shin wonders if he’s from JAA, and Tatsu confirms. Lu looks confused, so Shin explains it’s the Japanese Association of Assassins, a professional organization he and Taro used to be part of.
Sakamoto and the ex-Order
Tatsu turns to Taro, eyes narrowing. “So it’s true—you’re ex-Order?” Taro’s reaction is all the confirmation Tatsu needs. The Order isn’t just some urban legend.
Before things can escalate, Aoi and Hana show up, complaining they’re hungry. The group decides it’s time to eat, much to Tatsu’s disbelief. “You’re not gonna kill me?” he asks. Shin shakes his head. “We came to have fun.”
Hana hands Tatsu a band-aid, smiling. “You were great at the show earlier.”
As they walk away, Tatsu watches them, incredulous. “Idiots,” he mutters, pulling out a hidden knife. But then he pauses, deciding it’s not worth it. Instead, he pockets the knife and grins to himself. One more ride on the roller coaster before heading home sounds like a better plan.
Boiled and Obiguro arrived
While eating, Shin mentions he’s feeling woozy from the antidote and won’t be able to read minds for a while. Since that could be dangerous, Lu suggests they call it a day and head home. Aoi watches them suspiciously, noting how weird they’re acting. “Are you hiding something?” she asks, making Taro, Shin, and Lu completely panic.
Meanwhile, Boiled and Obiguro show up at the park. It’s packed, and Obiguro wants to bail fast, but Boiled snaps at her to watch her step—she nearly crushed some ants. “We only take the lives of our targets,” he says seriously. Obiguro rolls her eyes, annoyed but also secretly thinking Boiled is kind hot.
Boiled and Obiguro prepare to attack
In the bathroom, they run into Tatsu. Obiguro takes him down effortlessly, pinning him to the ground like it’s no big deal. Boiled immediately scolds her. “You’re a lady; sit properly!” he yells. Tatsu, completely bewildered, asks what they want. Boiled calmly explains they’re here to do his job. Obiguro perks up, excited to meet Taro. Boiled, thinking back, notes he hasn’t seen Taro yet—and weirdly, his scar starts aching. Obiguro wonders if Taro gave him that scar, but Boiled brushes it off, claiming he just fell recently. Tatsu, recognizing them as the notorious Dondenkai power duo who wiped out 200 people in the Ronriko incident two years ago, thinks Taro and Shin are completely doomed.
Back with Taro’s group, they vehemently deny hiding anything. Aoi, unfazed, announces she’s picked their next stop—a haunted hospital. The group is visibly shocked, knowing it’s a perfect spot to get assassinated. As they nervously step inside, Lu pops some anti-anxiety meds. Unbeknownst to them, Boiled and Obiguro are already watching from the shadows.
Taro was a popular assassin
The group explores the haunted hospital but is soon attacked by what looks like a zombie. Shin and Taro quickly realize it’s actually an assassin in disguise and make quick work of him. Meanwhile, Boiled and Obiguro watch everything from the surveillance room. Obiguro gets hyped seeing Taro in action but is cool with leaving him to Boiled since he’s Boiled’s “special friend.” Boiled cracks open a bottle of alcohol, downs it in one go, and bluntly declares that Taro isn’t his friend.
Boiled remembers back when he was 15, training at the JCC assassin school, where he first met 14-year-old Taro. He’d heard rumors about Taro being ridiculously strong and went to see for himself. They hit it off and spent a lot of time together. On Valentine’s Day, Boiled figured they were too “hard-boiled” to get chocolate from girls — but Taro was insanely popular and ended up with a mountain of it. That moment made Boiled rethink everything. He thought they were the same kind of guy, but now he wasn’t so sure. Obiguro wonders if this mission is just Boiled settling an old grudge, but Boiled brushes it off.
Lu verses Obiguro
Taro and Shin take down one assassin after another. As Lu starts freaking out, Shin teases her until she decides to chug the Lu Family’s “traditional medicine.” Turns out, it’s just booze. A knock echoes at the door, and Lu, now light-headed, opens it without a second thought. Out swarm a group of zombies. Taro and Shin dive straight into battle, trying to hold them off, but the zombies lurch toward Aoi and Hana.
Right then, Boiled shows up, landing a punch that sends Taro flying. Taro recovers and hurls an assassin’s ID card at him. Boiled dodges but still gets a nasty slice on his old scar. He wonders if Taro remembers him. Taro? Completely blank. Instead, he casually asks about Boiled’s family.
Meanwhile, Obiguro faces off against Shin, but before they get too far, a drunk Lu stumbles in and kicks Obiguro square in the face. Obiguro, weirdly thrilled, grins wide. As tension builds, Taro and Boiled ready themselves for a showdown. Boiled lets a tear fall, vowing to make Taro remember him.
Shin gets captured
Angry, Taro demands an answer. Boiled calmly responds that if Taro lost something, he’d have to find it himself. Taro, furious, throws a punch, but Boiled dodges with ease, tossing a bomb in his direction. Taro counters with a kick, which Boiled narrowly avoids, hurling a flurry of bombs that encircle Taro. Boiled closes the distance, landing a punch with an armored glove fitted with two angled pipes on the back.
Obiguro hears the commotion and declares the fight has begun. Drunk Lu stumbles forward, swinging a clumsy punch at her. Obiguro catches herself, gripping Lu by the bangs and shaking her head. “You gotta do better,” she scolds. She adds, almost mockingly, that she could kill both Shin and Lu in an instant, but there’s no thrill in that. Her men arrive, tying up Shin. “People show their true strength when they’re freaked out,” she smirks, ordering Lu to hit her. “If you don’t, we’ll cut Shin up.” Lu breaks down, sobbing and apologizing to Shin, unable to act.
Sakamoto remembers
Meanwhile, Boiled sizes up Taro. “It’s been five years since I retired. That’s five years of experience you don’t have.” He shakes his head. “Back then, you were the epitome of hard-boiled. Now look at you.” Sakamoto lunges at Boiled, but Boiled effortlessly deflects him with another bomb. “Struggling’s pointless,” he sneers. “With my Super Ball Bombs (SBBs) and Rocket Dynamite Punch (RDP), I can hit you at any distance or angle. Did you forget that too?”
Sakamoto’s memory flashes to Boiled showing off his bombs back at JCC with Nagumo. Boiled’s voice cuts through the memory as he yells at Taro. “I used to look up to you! You carried out missions perfectly. Now you’re weak — half-assed. You can’t even protect your family.” His punch launches Taro into a wall.
As Boiled lights a cigarette, he suddenly freezes, sweat beading on his brow as he senses overwhelming murderous intent. Slimmed-down Sakamoto approaches from behind, coldly listing the compositions of Boiled’s bombs. Taro, catching his breath, declares, “I remember now. From this point on, I’m going all out.”
