The NWS in Huntsville has issued a flood warning for a portion of Madison County in northern Alabama until 10:30PM tonight. This is due to the possibility of flooding along Indian Creek.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of north central Alabama, including the following county, Madison. * WHEN...Until 1030 PM CST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Recent moderate to heavy rainfall has caused Indian Creek to rise through the day. Current values are 6.7 feet, and flood stage is 7.5 feet. Indian Creek is expected to rise above flood stage this evening, cresting before midnight tonight. The creek will then slowly fall back below flood stage by sunrise Thursday morning. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 329 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Northwestern Huntsville, Madison, Redstone Arsenal, Triana, Marshall Space Flight Center and Harvest. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
