Over the last 30 minutes, the main line of storms we’re tracking has ramped up across Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
Right now, the largest threat for Alabama appears to be very strong and damaging winds. The SPC has western portions of the state under a 45% risk of severe winds, and the risk area could be expanded with their next update. Straight line winds are expected to occur, especially in the first couple of hours after the line moves into the state. Remember, straight line winds and high wind gusts can be devasting, so please take any weather warnings seriously if they are issued.
