For some reason the idea of making a portrait of a warrior with a tattoo of Pearl Jam’s “Not For You” song on a shoulder has been repeating itself in my head for months now. I tried a few different attempts with some other portraits, but none of them turned out. I’m really happy with this one though!
I remember being really excited buying their Vitalogy cd when I was a kid. They were my favorite band. My first cd I ever owned was actually one of their previous albums Ten. I remember my friend first introducing me to their music on a little radio in their kitchen.
It’s interesting to look back on, how different bands gave me different feelings when I was young. With getting older, I’ve found I’ve become so much more numb and even jaded, that I don’t get many feelings anymore. But when I listen to music like this, I can still remember glimpses of those long ago feelings.
It was created with Photoshop and Corel Painter using a Wacom Intuos Pro tablet.
