The fashion industry has embraced cannabis quickly, as we also work with brands such as Collina Strada and Luar. Fashion week in NYC is exciting. People come from around the world. There are fashion shows, parties, and events.

When these events happen, we all want the media to cover us, including bloggers, influencers, and others. Eckhaus’s model walking down the runway with a blog in hand was featured on Vogues’ Instagram and was a half-pager in the New York Times. We were thrilled, but here’s the thing: the bong was written about and highlighted, but not one writer noted where it came from, as in Gotham never got a mention.

Once again, I am disappointed by the press. The better story about Ekhaus Latta is how creative and smart they are about business. Not only did they partner with Gotham on a bong, they also did a few other partnerships for this show. Those partnerships share the same zeitgeist that EL shares, and through those partnerships, they can highlight others while paying for the cost to put on a fashion show which is essential to the industry.

Things are changing, and I used to look to major media publications to do the research and write about how industries are evolving. When will they get it right again?
