Cosy Nights and Snowball Fights by Rosie Green #Review #LittleDuckPondBk36

Believe it or not, we are at Book 36 in the Little Duck Pond Cafe series! Cosy Nights and Snowball Fights is the latest novella by Rosie Green.

As the nights draw in, gingerbread lattes and
festive hot chocolates are on the menu, and the Little Duck Pond Café girls are
gearing up for the cosiest time of the year. But new recruit Laurel just wishes
she could sleep through the whole jolly affair! It might be October, but she’s
still haunted by the events of last Christmas. Could a new start in Sunnybrook
help to heal her heart?

My Thoughts

This series shows no signs of flagging and along with the familiar characters, we are introduced to Laurel’s story. As the story develops, you realise why Laurel is so upset at the thought of all things Christmas.  She has moved to Sunnybrook for a fresh start but has spent her first months there avoiding going out much. She wants to protect her feelings and a new relationship is at the bottom of her Christmas list. However, the Little Duck Pond girls are persistent in their offers of friendship and she finds herself attracted to a certain young man.

Laurel’s family dynamics are complicated. She absolutely appreciates all the support she has had from her parents but there is another family member who has caused a lot of damage to her self esteem. What she craves is reliability and a safe secure home. This is as enjoyable a visit to Sunnybrook as you can wish for.

In short: romance in the snow

About the Author

Rosie Green’s Little Duck Pond Cafe series of novellas is
centred around life in a village cafe and most can be read as stand-alone
stories. (‘The Sunshine Sisters’ is a trilogy within the Little Duck Pond Café
series and it would benefit from being read in order: Aurora, Skye and
Blossom
.) Look out for ‘Cosy Nights & Snowball Fights’, and ‘Maddy’s
Christmas Wedding’
, both out later this year in time for the festive season!
