ProAdvisor Updates: Recertification and More

2025 ProAdvisor Recertification

During this past January’s QB Talks covering ProAdvisor Training Opportunities Insightful Accountant was first to report that Intuit would open the annual ‘Recertification’ window for ProAdvisors on April 28, 2025.

We can now confirm that this  year’s Recertification period runs from April 28, 2025 through June 30, 2025. During that time ‘Recertification Exams’ will be available for both QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor – Level 1 and QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor – Level 2.  All ProAdvisors who have not been certified in Level 1, or Level 2, since November 1, 2024 will be required to ‘recertify’ by not later than June 30, 2025, in order to maintain the certified status.

If you received your Level 1 or Level 2 certifications (or re-certifications) prior to November 1, 2024, you must ‘re-certify’ before June 30, 2025.

New training is being incorporated into the recertification process. This year’s training (and exams) will include information specifically related to QuickBooks Online Accountant, Intuit’s new Enterprise Suite (online ERP product), and Intuit Assist. This new content will be featured in a group of self-paced modules available through the ProAdvisor Academy.  In addition, Intuit will offer a group of Bi-weekly webinars that specifically are aimed at recertification exam content.

Intuit will also host a ‘Recertification Virtual Conference‘ at 9:00 AM Pacific-time on May 14, 2025. Registration for this event has just opened and you can register at this Official Intuit Website.

Intuit has also announced that you could potentially win a “$250 Visa gift card” as part of your recertification effort. All ProAdvisors who recertify by June 30 will be eligible; however, one lucky ProAdvisor will win one of the gift cards each week during the April 28, 2025 through June 30, 2025 recertification period.

ProAdvisor Course Updates

This week, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, all ProAdvisor courses in the QuickBooks Academy will be updated. If you are presently working through one of these courses you need to be aware that the “knowledge checks” for courses will be reset to coincide with the updated content. If you have not completed a course you will be required to retake the updated “knowledge checks” in order to continue with the course.

This does not impact “knowledge checks” for courses that you have already ‘completed’ as part of a certification.

Intuit is recommending that you complete any courses you are presently working on prior to March 25, 2025 in order to avoid having to retake any “knowledge checks” you’ve already passed.

Be aware, an containing this information should appear at the to of your ProAdvisor Academy “My Hub” webpage when you login to take or complete training.

Level 2 ProAdvisor VCon begins Tomorrow (March 25)

Intuit is offering a free virtual VCon for ProAdvisors who already hold Level 1 certification to prepare them for the QuickBooks Online Level 2 certification examination. The event takes place Tuesday through Thursday, March 25 – 27, 2025.  It will begin each day at 9:00 AM Pacific-time. Session lengths and content vary by day. You must attend all three days to garner all of the available content including the final days session on ‘exam preparation.’  Those attending the entire content, and responding to a minimum number of polling questions, can earn up to 9.5 hours of CPE.

The virtual conference is designed to help you pass the QuickBooks Online Level 2 certification exam. Upon earning QuickBooks Online Level 2 certification, ProAdvisors receive an additional 200 ProAdvisor points and unlock a new badge for their Find-a-ProAdvisor profile.

You can still register for the QuickBooks Online Level 2 Certification V-con at this Intuit WEBSITE.

New Mailchimp Training and Content Available for ProAdvisors

Intuit is offering both a Mailchimp training course (with certificate of completion) and a Mailchimp (PDF) Product Guide within the ‘Course’ webpage of your ProAdvisor Academy (as shown below).

The “Getting Started with Mailchimp” Learning Path (shown in the upper center green box above) is an introductory course on how to effectively use Intuit Mailchimp to market, communicate with customers, and expand your firms.

The course provides a sound introduction to the core functionalities of Mailchimp with the intent of empowering Mailchimp users to effective manage email marketing and audience growth. To that extent, it does provide the foundational knowledge and skills you can use with your clients to assist them in leveraging Mailchimp to achieve their marketing goals.

The course has three major objectives:

  1. Instruct participants in how to setup a new Mailchimp accounting, including domain verification and selection of an appropriate pricing plan.
  2. Teach participants how to manage and grow an audience within Mailchimp by importing contacts.
  3. Prepare participants to create and send a basic email campaign using Mailchimp including the steps for audience selection, email design and performance report review.

The Mailchimp Product Guide is a PDF document that is intended to serve as a tool to help you, as a ProAdvisor, have conversations with your clients regarding their potential need and use for Mailchimp.

In my opinion, the 27page  guide (referenced by the green arrow in the above graphic) is more of a ‘general information’ and ‘marketing tool’ than it is a true product guide. It does cover “Implementation” including data migration via your ‘Migration Specialist’. It also discusses the “Onboarding” process via your ‘Onboarding Specialist.’ From that point it is focused on building, managing and optimizing marketing campaigns using the various tools and features of Mailchimp, for example, how to build SMS text-messaging into your marketing efforts.

One thing interesting I found within this guide that I hadn’t heard of before. It mentions a “directory of 750+ Mailchimp-certified professionals.” When you click on the active URL in the guide for that directory, you get taken to a Mailchimp Professionals webpage and can access the directory; however, you won’t find any reference on ‘how to partner‘ or ‘how to become a Mailchimp certified professional‘ anywhere on the website. I searched the website for those phrases at got no reply. Seems like a perfect opportunity for ProAdvisors recommending Mailchimp to their clients, but that’s hard to do so when some other ‘certified individual’ is the target of support and assistance from within the product.

“Good luck with all your training efforts whether you are planning to upgrade your certification from Level 1 to Level 2, planning on recertification for your current certification level, or undertaking new training opportunities.”  (Murph)
