Hi. You may have noticed a shortage of content around here since April 11, a situation that’s not hard to notice given the pace at which we’ve consistently shit out articles Monday through Friday since 2009. I’d like to extend a fist bump to everyone who reached out to ask if we’re OK, even the person who felt compelled to call the tipline 9 times in a row after midnight the other night before finally leaving a frantic voicemail.
So why haven’t we posted anything? I let my cat walk on my keyboard one too many times and he finally broke something important. Nah, what really happened is beyond my intermediate understanding of WordPress and you don’t care about the details anyway, just know something broke behind the scenes on Tax Day and our tech people needed some time to patch it up.
It appeared to be temporary when it started happening two Mondays ago but unfortunately was more than a little hiccup. Being almost 16 years old with more than 17,000 articles and three times as many URLs, this site is a beast to manage sometimes. The issue prevented us from adding new posts while the tech people we pay to worry about this stuff did their thing so we’ve missed out on a week and a half of news…thankfully we’re in accounting so it’s not like that’s a lot.
Again, I appreciate everyone who reached out to check on us/me. Trust me, when we finally decide to pull the plug on this site we’ll let you know and will leave a sign on the door before locking up.
