Hear more from Charles before his seminar session at Accountex next month…

How did you get into your profession?

I started on the graduate training scheme for management consulting in a Big 4 firm, which really helped me to understand the fundamentals of delivering business change.

This opened the door to roles across different industries – which included government, automotive, telecoms and financial services.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I focus on some of the most strategically important questions for businesses operating today.

Azets are growing quickly and this gives opportunities to shape a genuine challenger to the market. I find this growth mindset and strategic purpose really rewarding, working alongside great people.

What do you think the biggest AI trend will be over the next year?

We are now moving towards a world where traditional automation and efficiency through RPA is becoming table stakes for large organisations.

The next step will be the embedding of Gen AI and Agentic AI, with businesses in all sectors starting to properly leverage these tools – including professional services.

What are you most looking forward to at Accountex?

I am looking forward to hearing some of the other talks and meeting more people from the industry.

Events like this allow me to get a temperature check from my peers, to see how the room is feeling about the latest hot topics.

Accountex will bring so many of us together into a single location.

What do you want visitors to take away from your seminar?

I am hoping people will learn something new, which could help to drive meaningful change for their business.

The world of AI, digital and data is evolving so quickly that it is not always clear what is happening.

As a minimum my seminar should give some structure to people listening to all of the news about AI.

Catch Charles’s session at Accountex London, taking place at Excel London on the 14-15 May, 2025.

‘AI-enabled accounting – Getting the most out of digital and data’ is taking place at 10am on 15 May.
