Season 3 episode 7 of Reacher is L A Story as they move out to the west coast. They want Quinn on the line and to see his cousin Rhonda face before Reacher takes him out of the picture.

Quinn/McCabe, after taking Beck Sr’s ear, still treats him like something found under his shoe. He tells the man little to nothing about his upcoming plans and this will affect Reacher’s plans.
Beck’s fall from grace does, however, make him that bit closer to his son Richard. He has always loved his boy, but feared losing him.
Neagley joins forces with Reacher physically after doing some personal research on her two would-be assailants.

we all fall down
Everything goes swimmingly till Duffy and Villanueva screw the pooch and tell ATF what is happening. The two DEA agents cite overwhelming man and gun power being the deciding factor. Of course when the ATF learn of their “extra curricular” activities, everything falls down.
The ATF take over, tell Duffy and her partner that their careers are over and even disparage Reacher before he leaves the meeting in disgust. Duffy and Villanueva end up in the cheap seats on the night.
To those who are about to die
It all falls down for a number of reasons. Duffy and Reacher finally do “the thing.” This aids the disintegration of Reacher’s carefully laid plans. Duffy’s devotion to Theresa or, more likely, her sense obligation to the young girl she put in harm’s way also helps.
Quinn’s natural inclination to distrust Beck also helps although indirectly. By the time Reacher realizes, with the help of Neagley, that they’ve been misdirected it may be too late to save anyone.
Penultimate episode
L A Story is the penultimate episode of Reacher‘s third season. So far it has been a brilliant blend of mayhem, violence and sexual simmering. You know, a typical Reacher series!
This time around though, the dynamics between all and sundry have been spot on. Duffy and Reacher had chemistry from the very start. Villanueva has always seen Duffy as the daughter in their relationship. Beck, clearly loves Richard but cannot, until now show it. Proof positive that one of the Becks ain’t gonna make it.
*Just a quick note here about the music. Kudos to Tony Morales. He nails this episode. Not to say that he does not impress for the rest, but this one just kills it. Well done mate.*
In the meantime, just when, and more importantly, how is Reacher going to take care of Paulie. We all know that Quinn is shark meat; think that flushing toilet alluded to by the late Harley. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
But Paulie’s fade, in the last two episodes, means that he is going to pop up like a huge malefic Paulie in the box. Hopefully, he will get his just desserts, this time around.
the verdict
Reacher Season Three, episode 7: L A Story continues to entertain with a mighty 5 star ranking. Ritchson owns this part, sorry Tom, and his performance drives everyone around him. As excited as we are about the next episode, we are also that little bit let down that the end of this season is, as they say, nigh.
Reacher is streaming on Prime.
