Whisper Breach (2025): One That Will Make You Think

2025 brings us an AI thriller titled Whisper Breach. This is one that will make you think. There are some excellent moments here as writer/director Craig Cockerill carefully takes us through the paces. He gives a switch hit, several times actually, that makes the final moments of the film different. Sort of harsh and surprising, it has a β€œtwang.”

The Story

Ex Navy SEAL Kent Collins and his other half, a female LEO type, hang out with old pal Winston Burns. Burns is a former governmental AI specialist. He wants his old pals to help set up a new AI Black Ops organization. All too soon everything starts falling to pieces. Friends and lovers are dying and reality takes a backseat to this all new world of espionage.

The Main Cast

Mike Markoff is Kent Collins.

Garon Grigsby is Winston Burns.

Chelsea Gilson is Sandy Collins.

Ken Wood is General McGraw.

Jackie Shearn is Trixie.

And…

Allan Wayne Anderson is Heinz Hildemann.

Constance-Marie Kim is Natalie.

Mahesh Sriram is FBI Agent.

AI is a bad thing, right?

The message behind Whisper Breach is that AI is probably not to be trusted. At the very least it is meant to be taken with a huge grain of salt. Hollywood tells us, via many a cautionary tale, that Artificial Intelligence is bad. Terminator, M3gan, and to a lesser degree, Companion. These are just a few examples of the AI is bad for you train.

Right off the bat we believe that Winston’s idea is probably a bad one. Winston, however, is affably and likable. An unbeatable combination that makes it hard for former SEAL Kent to turn it down.

Despite our initial misgivings and some pretty prevalent red flags we watch with anticipation. Winston is that likable.

It sort of works

Cockerill gives us a decent cast, entertaining story and some twists and turns that impress. *He also worked as DP on this one.* At first, I found Whisper Breach a tad slow. That was down to me. You have to pay attention to this one. It is worth it. I was surprised at the ending and felt this one was worth the price of admission.

Comic relief

Jackie Shearn is a delight as β€œCall me Trixie.” The neighbour with the hots for widower Kent. As comic relief, she rocked.

There was one character though that was funny for the wrong reasons. Ken Wood raised a few eyebrows and a lot of inadvertent chuckles. For those of you old enough to remember β€œLincoln Logs,” (Or even Tinker Toys?) his lines were delivered with a standard amount of wood.

I have no idea if there was a reason behind this delivery. Wood, whose line delivery was too evocative of his name, was a jarring presence.

Markoff, Grigsby and Gilson made a great trio here. Whisper Breach is a solid film with an excellent story behind it. The action is convincing and the AI presentation is impressive. *It is also quite amusing in parts.*

The Verdict

Whisper Breach premiered in the LA area on the 15th of May. If you managed to catch it, I imagine you had a good time. This is a 4 star effort that impresses and makes you think. Not a small feat in this day and age of advanced technology. Cockerill is one of those chaps that bears watching. He and Triple Sea Media are definitely on the rise.
