Animal Justice is a national animal law advocacy organization, focused on improving laws and policies to protect animals in Canada. Our team works to pass strong new animal laws at all levels of government, ensures industries and corporations are held accountable for abusing animals, and fights for animals in courtrooms across the country.
We seek an enthusiastic and driven Corporate Campaigns Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving protections for farmed animals, and will be responsible for helping plan and execute short- and long-term pressure campaigns that move food companies and other industry stakeholders to ban or reduce practices that are harmful to farmed animals.

Position Specifics
Position type: Full time, permanent
Reports to: Corporate Engagement Manager
Location: Remote or hybrid at Animal Justice’s Toronto office; must be legally permitted to work in Canada. Preference for candidates located in Toronto.
Salary: $68,000-$73,000 per year (commensurate with years of experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Position Duties
- Research and execute effective campaign tactics to: 1) secure and implement animal welfare commitments in the Canadian food and farming industry, and 2) influence food industry stakeholders to advance farmed animal welfare in alignment with program goals;
- Help identify priority targets, research and maintain records of key details of corporations and other relevant stakeholders, including structure, history, animal welfare standards, menu items, leadership, social media handles, and affiliates;
- Work with the Corporate Engagement Manager to develop campaign materials, including website content, advertisements, outreach emails, protest and public relations materials;
- Work with the Communications team to develop social media content that supports Animal Justice’s corporate cage-free campaigning, including graphics, reels, and blogs;
- Work with the Mobilization Manager and volunteer leaders to develop and execute on-the-ground campaign tactics;
- Help increase public awareness of the role of food companies in farmed animal welfare, and elevate the public profile of Animal Justice’s corporate campaigns;
- Monitor and report on the performance of cage-free campaigns tactics and communications content in collaboration with the Communications team;
- Maintain strong relationships with supporters, and colleagues at other organizations;
- Serve as a spokesperson for Animal Justice on the ground at actions, at industry and other events, and in the media;
- Travel as necessary to assist with campaigns and events;
- Assist other team members with special projects, including fundraisers, community events, and conferences.
Position Requirements
- Minimum of one year of professional experience in awareness-raising campaigning, issue advocacy, corporate relations, project management, volunteer management, or a related area
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational, time-management, and project-management skills
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Reliable interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally and persuasively
- Good understanding of the Canadian food industry and the country’s key farmed animal welfare issues
- Willingness to work on initiatives that publicly target companies, industries, and individuals
- Comfort with confrontation and public advocacy
- Experience with graphic design, web design, and short-form video creation is an asset
- Ability to communicate in French is an asset
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
