Kneecap denounce Gaza atrocities as “Medieval type slaughter”

Irish rap trio Kneecap took to X yesterday to call out the resumption of strikes in Gaza, which have killed hundreds since the ending of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

Across three posts, Kneecap described the ongoing situation as a “medieval type slaughter”, and accused Israel of having “murdered almost 100 people as they slept” in a single night.

They wrote: “The most vulnerable people on earth, trapped with no electricity, food, access to their own sea or any means to escape are being bombed by the most powerful army in the region armed by [the] most powerful army on earth.”

On Tuesday, March 18, Israel resumed its war on Gaza with air strikes, breaking a ceasefire that had lasted nearly two months, while today, it has been reported by Al Jazeera that a ground invasion has been launched in the north and south of the Gaza Strip.

Kneecap have long been vocal supporters of Palestine, unveiling a pro-Palestine ‘Saoirse Don Phalaistín’ mural in West Belfast last year, as well as performing at a fundraising concert Gig For Gaza, which raised money for charities Medical Aid For Palestine (M.A.P.) and Gaza Forever.
