It wouldn’t hurt this badly if we didn’t care this much.
Remember that we are worth fighting for. We’re the ones we’ve been waiting for. It’s never going to be a candidate or an elected official. It’s always going to be us. Standing with and for each other.
Despair is the ultimate tool of authoritarianism. Eroding our will to resist. Our despair is their victory. They haven’t won until we stop.
Some ideas for things to read, watch, and think about in the days ahead, to keep despair at bay and keep the will to resist as strong as we need:
The U.S., and the world at large, has deep problems that were never going to be solved by one election. We were never going to be saved yesterday. We need the smart, creative, culturally-specific, long-term organizing that the Center for Artistic Activism — and so many of our amazing partners, like you — has always believed in.
We won’t be stopping anytime soon. We won’t ever be giving into despair. And we know you’ll join us.
