Tourism businesses and destinations face increasing pressure to meet climate regulations, yet many lack the necessary data, resources, and strategies. Recognising this gap, the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and Climate Friendly Travel Services (CFTS) have partnered to provide ATTA members with advanced environmental monitoring tools and tailored Climate Action Plans, enabling them to take immediate, effective Climate Action in their operations.
Data-driven Climate Action Plans
CFTS crafts Climate Action Plans based on the three pillars of Climate Friendly Travel: Paris 1.5-aligned, ensuring tourism meets global carbon reduction targets; SDG-linked, driving measurable sustainable development; and Nature Positive, prioritising ecosystem health and biodiversity protection.
To provide transparent and precise insights, CFTS and their partner Murmuration integrate advanced satellite Earth Observation data with the latest Travel & Tourism and Climate Change research. This enables tourism businesses to assess tourism pressure by identifying over-tourism hotspots and visitor impact, monitor environmental health to evaluate ecosystem resilience, and develop actionable strategies based on real-time analytics and global sustainability frameworks.
