DAVID ADERHOLDT: The storm before the build

We clean up all the yard, which was a wreck from a tree being brought down and they left all the scrub and cuts in the yard where they lay. We cleaned all that up and more. We used a miter saw and a table saw to make the pieces that we needed to repair the fascia. We scraped paint off the wooden part of the house, and then we repainted. We cut bushes down and took a porch apart, and cleaned cleaned cleaned. Lastly we painted the fascia board that we put up and maybe soon the roofer can begin and finish his part.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn of churches, the Christian church there in Eldon grilled out burgers and hot dogs for us and we devoured them. We used their showers and got clean! We slept like kings! We ate the breakfast they prepared for us. We worked all day, and then ate the dinner that they prepared for us again. We used their showers. We slept like kings! We had yet another breakfast there this morning before we left! What a church, what a pastor!

Benny rocked our worlds profoundly this morning at devotions. He moved the expectation bar several notches higher. Then we got on our bikes and started our 93 miles, 4600 feet of climb, day of riding. It was cool and fresh and beautiful this morning. Simply a beautiful day!

Mine ended poorly as I continue to have chain problems that have proved difficult to resolve. But we all arrived in Warrensburg, MO eventually and had a lovely pre-dinner salad bar, and then a grand dinner. Tomorrow we are to work on three separate projects I believe.
