Dave Hovde will leave San Luis Obispo NBC affiliate KSBY in early June. He’s worked at the station for 22 years.
“Thank you!!!! I hope everyone knows how much I have appreciated the journey we’ve been on together,” he wrote on social media. “I am still on KSBY until early June and I hope we can enjoy the ride. I’ll be doing more thank you posts in the days and weeks to come, and when I can share what is next I will. I can’t wait to see you all out and about in the community!”
He told the local paper, The Tribune, that the next place he works will allow him to make life and schedule changes “that have been a long time coming.”
Hovde joined the station in 2003 after working in Fargo, North Dakota as a chief meteorologist. He’s also worked as chief meteorologist at KERO in Bakersfield.
