We are pleased to share that More Than Blue – our documentary on the faces and voices of postpartum depression is now screening across the globe through our new partnership with ROCO films, a leading distributor of award-winning documentaries.
Our collaboration with ROCO allows the film to reach the audiences for whom it was created: moms, dads, families, clinicians, trainees, health systems, governmental agencies, and community organizations working to better understand the science and stories around perinatal mental health. Following our global screening campaign, we look forward to also partnering with major digital streaming platforms to make More Than Blue accessible on demand for all families, clinicians, and communities worldwide.
Why Global Screenings Matter
Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders affect families in every community. Yet gaps persist in awareness, screening, diagnosis, and access to timely treatment. By screening More Than Blue widely, our goal is to help close these gaps by offering a resource that amplifies the powerful stories and real voices of postpartum depression, anxiety and psychosis across America to diverse audiences – no matter where they live or who they are. Through our partnership with ROCO films, we will bring this powerful documentary and important conversations around perinatal mental health from living rooms in homes to health systems, clinics, universities, libraries, and community spaces around the world.
Early Reactions From the Road
We’re so humbled by the early response from our first wave of global screenings. These early impressions underscore the need for resources that help providers and communities recognize perinatal mental health conditions sooner, and support families more effectively:
“More Than Blue will be an invaluable resource for preparing future nurses to recognize and respond to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. The honest, lived experiences will help students build the empathy and clinical awareness this area of care urgently requires.”
— Nursing Education Librarian, Touro University
“More Than Blue does not choose to sensationalize the most traumatic and misunderstood experiences of motherhood. It instead chooses to celebrate and honor families, community, survivorship – and the resilience to overcome perinatal mental health challenges. It beautifully synthesizes the science and evidence. I felt so seen, heard and understood.”
— Postpartum Psychosis Survivor, MA
