BA reveals new way for frequent fliers to get bronze status

British Airways has updated its new loyalty program ‘The British Airways Club’ with new ways passengers can take advantage of offers to achieve bronze, silver and gold status.

In December 2024, British Airways unveiled its new look scheme which means customers earn points based on their spend rather than the distance they travel from but now the UK-carrier is looking to go further.

It was previously announced that members would earn one point for every £1 ($1.25) of eligible spend, which would be extended to include paying for extras such as seat selection and additional baggage and purchasing BA Holidays.

On February 5, 2025, to broaden the loyalty scheme BA confirmed a new ‘Bonus Tier Point’ offer in which members can earn between 75 and 550 per flight, dependent on the cabin they travel in, until December 31, 2025.

The new model also means members who flew frequently with the airline and earned their status based on the number of sectors they flew, could still qualify for the airline’s bronze or silver tier status by taking 25 and 50 flights respectively.

To reach bronze status members will need to earn 3,500 Tier Points, increasing to 7,500 for silver and 20,000 for gold.
