Philippine Airlines and Alaska Airlines enter partnership

Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Alaska Airlines have announced the forging of a frequent flyer partnership, allowing loyalty members of both carriers to earn and redeem miles across each other’s networks.

The partnership is also expected to enhance travel options for frequent flyers of both the Philippine flag carrier and the Seattle-based US airline.

Alaska Airlines is Philippine Airlines’ first loyalty partner in North America, while PAL is Alaska’s 32nd global partner.

Under the new collaboration, PAL’s  Mabuhay Miles members will be able to earn miles when flying on eligible Alaska flights, and Alaska’s Mileage Plan members will be able to earn them on eligible PAL routes.

Brett Catlin, Vice President of Loyalty, Alliances and Sales at Alaska Airlines said in a statement: “Philippine Airlines is a terrific addition to our roster of global airlines offering world-class service and amenities. We’re excited to make this announcement as we mark the beginning of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.”

“The large Filipino communities living in Hawai‘i, California and Washington state can travel on Philippine Airlines long-haul, widebody aircraft and soon earn valuable Mileage Plan miles on their transpacific journeys,” Catlin added.
