SAS plans to offer Starlink onboard its aircraft

SAS announced on January 27, 2025, that it plans to introduce Starlink inflight internet connectivity across its whole fleet.

The Scandinavian airline will offer complimentary low-latency, high-speed internet service to all passengers. However, based on the carrier’s official announcement, it appears that passengers may need to register for the EuroBonus loyalty program first.

Starlink, a service offered by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, is becoming increasingly popular among airlines, which value the ubiquity of this global, low-latency broadband service using a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. In the case of SAS, the capability to provide service over areas such as the North Sea and the Arctic is particularly critical, since many of its routes run over these regions.
