Winter Storm Enzo grounds flights across US


A major winter storm called Enzo has led to heavy snow and ice, disrupting air travel across the United States, especially at airports in Texas. 

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Winter Storm Warning for all Southeast Texas cities on January 20, 2025, which is in effect until the evening of January 21, 2025. The NWS predicted that the Houston area could see snowfall of four to six inches, while other areas might receive one to three inches of snow. 

As of now, FlightAware reported 2,182 flight cancellations and 697 delays across the US on January 21, 2025, Travel from Houston airports has been affected by the weather. Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) saw nearly 500 cancellations, while William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) had 133 flights canceled.
