AN EPIC legal showdown between social media celebrities Mutale Mwanza and her nemesis Chichi Daisy is underway in the Lusaka Magistrates Court. Mwanza’s case has been cause listed and is expected to appear in court soon.
Her name was on yesterday’s cause list ready for allocation, however, was not allocated because she was not present before court. In this case, Mwanza is charged with harassment utilising electronic communication, contrary to the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act.
Mwanza was arrested for allegedly insulting and defaming a Lusaka resident through Facebook. The socialite is alleged to have posted insulting and defamatory remarks on Daisy Lufumpa, a resident of Chamba Valley, through Facebook, on November 8, 2024.
According to a police statement, Mwanza was arrested following a complaint lodged in by Lufumpa on November 11, 2024. Mwanza did not take plea because she was not present.
