Not only will you develop invaluable skills for your resume, you will also be able to engage with farm influencers, industry professionals, and students from other universities. Tips and Tricks to Inspire Success
Here’s a list of top tips and tricks to inspire success from former CAO winners Alexis Main and Sydney Mitchell:
- Take this opportunity to connect with other college students
- Keep a list of ideas, hashtags, trends, and anything else you find helpful
- Try something new with your posts to help you find your style of advocating
- Make an effort to show up/participate in all activities – you’ll make the most of the learning opportunities and earn some points
- Take the time to do some research – utilize the resources the mentors provided
- Turn everything in on time – don’t save all of the work to do an hour before it’s due
- It doesn’t matter that your posts aren’t perfect – it matters that you are doing it!
- Let your creative juices flow!
- Embrace graphic design websites or software – they will be your new best friend (hint, hint: Canva)
- Don’t be afraid to ask the mentors and other students questions
- You get out of it what you put into it – dedicating a certain day or time to getting the tasks done for the week can help
- Get out of your comfort zone (just a little at least)
- Be genuine and find common ground with your followers
- Don’t worry about how many followers you have or how many people see your posts
- Don’t forget to put #CAO24 on all of your posts
- Have fun with it!
