What Factors Are Helping and Hindering Providers as They Collect Medical Bills?

What is the cost of collecting a medical bill? For most healthcare organizations, the answer is probably way too much. When the first digital tools were developed to improve efficiency and speed up cash collection 20 years ago, the unintentional consequence was increased overall costs, which were eventually passed on to purchasers (health plans, government, employers, patients).

AI is set to change that. But for it to succeed, health systems — and the way they deploy AI tech — have to be fundamentally different from the automation arms race a generation ago.

A new survey seeks to assess the revenue cycle management landscape. It will be followed by a comprehensive report highlighting the survey’s findings. Points the report will highlight include:

  • How long it takes to collect a medical bill
  • Factors behind payment delays
  • What it will take to improve the status quo

We’re eager to hear from healthcare professionals familiar with their organization’s billing practices. We’re offering a $20 Amazon gift card as a thank you to participants who complete the survey for contributing their valuable time, expertise and insights on this topic.
