ESA’s Third Party Missions : Pléiades Neo available

As of now, Pléiades Neo will be offering unique European 30cm native imagery at 3,5m CE90 geolocation accuracy to TPM users. Combined together, the 4 satellites will be able to acquire up to 2 million km2 with intraday revisit. The constellation also comprises 2 new spectral bands: deep blue and red edge.

Such precision and spectral resolution will unlock new possibilities for urban planning, maritime, coastal monitoring, vegetation analysis and many more applications.

Airbus has been supporting TPM users since the beginning with both optical and radar satellites: SPOT, Vision-1, Pléiades, Terra-SAR-X and TanDEM-X have already been part of our data offer for TPM today. With Pléiades Neo, our newest constellation is joining the TPM family and is offering the highest quality and resolution of EO data available to the global scientific community.

ESA’s Simonetta Cheli, Director of Earth Observation Programmes, confirmed, “We are delighted to announce that Pléiades Neo data is now available to the scientific user community as part of the Third Party Mission Programme. The newly available VHR data marks a new era for commercial and government geospatial applications providing a high level resolution and accuracy and responsiveness.”

François Lombard, Director of the Intelligence Business at Airbus Defence and Space, added: “I warmly thank ESA for its long-lasting trust, allowing Europe’s excellent scientific community to access our data for many years. We are extremely happy to see our new Pléiades Neo fleet added to this programme, which will bring a lot in terms of resolution with 30 cm, agility and capacity to help further improve research and development.”

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
