Alaska Airlines’ expansion on the West Coast continues – now in San Diego, where the carrier is adding three new nonstop destinations and increasing flights by 30%.
Alaska Airlines flyers living in San Diego will soon have three new destinations available for nonstop connectivity.
The airline announced they would increase total flights by 30% while adding three new flights from San Diego: Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Denver International Airport (DEN), and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX).
Alaska Increasing San Diego Flights to Eight Destinations
For Phoenix, Alaska will begin offering year-round service on August 20, 2025, followed by Chicago and Denver by October 4, 2025. Each city will get three daily flights operated by either Boeing 737 or Embraer E175 aircraft. Fellow Oneworld carrier American Airlines has hubs in both Phoenix and Denver, offering even more network connectivity.
But San Diego flyers won’t just get increased access to those major metros. Starting on October 26, 2025, Alaska will increase flights to four other western cities. Once the expansion is complete, San Diego will have six daily nonstop flights to Las Vegas, Sacramento, and San Jose, and four daily nonstop flights to Salt Lake City.
“We’re proud to already serve San Diego and the surrounding region with the most nonstop destinations from San Diego,” Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Airlines, said in a press release. “These exciting new additions to our network further expand our ability to take San Diegans directly to where they want to go, better than any other airline, with our premium onboard service and global loyalty program.”
To celebrate the new launches, Alaska is offering new Mileage Plan loyalty members a discount on flights. New members in California and Hawaii can get $50 off their next flight by enrolling at this link, while new members living in other states can get $25 off their next flight by signing up with this link. Enrolling members will need to book their trip within 28 days of enrollment and fly within 90 days.
