American Airlines to Introduce New Meals In Lounges and Aboard Flights – FlyerTalk

Premium flyers will soon have their choice of new food and spirits while on the ground and in the skies, including sliders, omelets, and top-shelf drinks.

American Airlines wants to make every trip a culinary adventure for premium cabin flyers.

The carrier announced a refresh of their food and beverage options at Admiral’s Club lounges and in flight in time for Spring 2025 travel.

New Breakfast, All-Day, and Spirits Options Ahead for Flyers

Across their network, lounges in 12 cities will soon see new menu items available at breakfast and during the all-day service. Some of the highlights include:

  • Miami International Airport (MIA): Build-your-own tacos with spicy chicken, roasted veggies, soft tortillas and shredded cheddar
  • LaGuardia International Airport (LGA) in New York: Build-your-own breakfast slider with egg patty and cheddar cheese
  • Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT): Sweet and sour pork with pineapple, brown rice and quinoa, toasted sesame seeds, scallions and chili crisp
  • Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW): Argentina beef empanada with roasted red pepper chimichurri
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Orange peel tempura chicken with roasted red pepper and onion

In addition, lounges will also feature new premium spirits for those wanting a libation between flights. Some of the new options includes Still G.I.N., Casamigos Añejo Tequila, Tequila Ocho Reposado, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, and Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey.

Onboard flights, those in the first class cabin on short-haul flights will get their choice of new meals at breakfast and in the afternoon. The new breakfast items include biscuit and chicken sausage gravy with cheesy scrambled eggs, white cheddar and Monterey Jack omelet with chicken sausage and seasoned wedge potatoes, and a smothered veggie and cheese frittata with tomato wedges and everything seasoned potatoes. For domestic flights less than 900 miles, those in the forward cabin can also pre-order sliders and fries for an afternoon snack, described by customers as a “delicious” option with fries having “the perfect crunch.”

If you aren’t flying up front, it’s still possible to get a “free” meal or drink. Starting on March 18, 2025, flyers can use their AAdvantage miles to purchase food and eligible beverages during flights.
