American Announces Destinations for First Flagship Suite Aircraft – FlyerTalk

Flyers to Brisbane, London, and Zurich will be among the first to try American Airlines’ new premium cabins, including the Flagship Suite.

Travelers now know which flights to book if they want to be the first ones to enjoy American Airlines Flagship Suites when traveling abroad.

The carrier announced their first four routes operated by the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners outfitted with the new cabins.

First Flagship Suites Flight Scheduled for June 5, 2025

Each of the flights will go on sale on Monday, May 5, 2025, for services starting as soon as June. The inaugural flight of the Flagship Suites will take place on June 5, traveling from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as American Flight 2012. It will then return to Chicago to begin regular operations to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) as American Flight 98.

The other three Flagship Suites routes will begin service later in the year. Flagship service will begin from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to London Heathrow on August 6, 2025, followed by Philadelphia to Zurich Airport (ZRH) on September 3. The final route to get Flagship Suite service will roll out on October 26, 2025, with service from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Brisbane Airport (BNE) in Australia.

Each of the 51 Flagship Suites outfitted on the new 787-9 airframes will feature privacy doors, increased personal storage space, a wireless charging pad, and a chaise lounge seating option. The aircraft will also offer 32 premium economy seats with headrest wings for additional privacy.

The new aircraft are among a total of 30 the carrier is anticipating adding to their fleet by 2029. With Flagship Suites installed on all new 787-9 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft, and retrofits coming to the Boeing 777-300ER, American expects to increase lie-flat and Premium Economy seating by 50% before 2030.
