American flyers will have a new “oasis” flying through Philadelphia International Airport in the form of a new 25,000-square-foot Flagship Lounge and Admiral’s Club.
American Airlines’ latest lounge space is designed to depart flyers from the airport and into a “modern hospitality destination.”
The carrier will welcome guests in their newest Flagship lounge and Admiral’s Club at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) starting on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Lounge Divided Into “Neighborhoods” to Create Unique Experience
The 25,000-sqare-foot lounge space is divided into four “neighborhoods” to help flyers relax and find the respite they need. The Lounge Neighborhood will offer ample seating, including a fireplace to decompress before or between flights. The Dining and Bar Neighborhood features a combination of self-serve stations and full-service bars, offering a collective space to enjoy the food and beverage options.

In the Villas, guests can experience quiet restrooms and spa-style showers to refresh between flights, featuring Klur bath products with the exclusive “Balance in Bloom” scent. American worked with Klur to develop the scent and will expand the products to all of their U.S.-based lounges before the end of the year. Finally, a Kids Room will also be available for families to relax before their long trip.
The lounge will be a combined space, featuring one reception lounge for two airlines. The Flagship lounge will feature exclusive experiences for those in the premium cabin, including the spa showers, dining options from local chef and James Beard Award Semifinalist Randy Rucker, and the complimentary glass of champagne to welcome flyers in.
The move comes as American prepares for more international flights to operate through their major East Coast hub. In addition to over 300 peak-day departures to 26 countries from the airport, the airline is preparing to launch five more flights out of the airport. Additional routes include those to Milan and Edinburgh, both starting on May 23.
The new lounge is located between gates A15 and A16, replacing the Admiral’s Club in the A-East Terminal.
