Air France flyers will soon be able to smell the premium experience in the lounge and when boarding the La Première suites.
For the first time, a European airline can confidently say they will greet flyers with their signature fragrance.
Air France is launching a home fragrance, AF001, as part of their broader luxury experience both at the airport and in their top-end premium international cabin, La Première suites.
New Home Fragrance Result of Partnership with French Master Perfumer
The fragrance is the creation of Francis Kurkdjian, a French master perfumer and artistic director of Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Prior to working on his own brand, Kurkdjian created perfumes for Jean Paul Gaultier and Burberry.
Named after the airline’s former Concorde flight between Paris and New York during the 1970’s, the new fragrance is designed to inspire “a feeling of space, calm and light.” The scent itself is described as a “comforting musky scent, combined with mimosa from the south of France,” with hints of “jasmine and rose.”
“The Air France travel experience now elevates all five senses: sight, with the haute couture uniforms of our staff, our cabin interiors and the meticulous design of our lounges, taste with the delicious dishes on the menu on board, touch with the soft fabrics of our seats, sound with our playlists on board, and now smell with this prestigious signature fragrance,” said Fabien Pelous, SVP of customer experience at Air France.
Flyers traveling with Air France will be able to experience the new scent in several key places for the carrier. It will be slowly rolled out starting at the entrance of some Air France lounges at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) to create a “welcome gesture at the start of a journey.” Travelers will also begin finding the sensory signature in the La Première suites, including the lobby and lounge, along with the lounges found in terminals 2E halls L and M, 2F and 2G. After the initial rollout, travelers will soon be able to recognize the fragrance in other lounges across Paris and where Air France flies over the coming months.
