American Express is offering an enticing sign-up bonus on its Business Gold card, providing up to 65,000 Membership Rewards points. This offer is available until 8th April 2025.
Key Highlights
Free for the First Year: Enjoy a £0 annual fee for the first year (£195 thereafter).
Sign-Up Bonus:
- 40,000 points after spending £6,000 in the first three months.
- 20,000 points with a single purchase between Month 14 and Month 17.
(Remember, Membership Rewards Points can be converted to frequent flyer miles like British Airways Avios and Virgin Flying Club at a 1:1 ratio, so 65,000 amex points = 65,000 Avios or Virgin Points.)
Other options would be 195,000 Radisson Rewards points, or 130,000 Hilton Honors points.
Additional Earnings: Earn 1 point per £1 spent and receive 10,000 bonus points for spending £20,000 in a calendar quarter.
Annual Credit: £100 credit per year for Dell purchases, split into two £50 credits.
Eligibility
- Open to small businesses and sole traders
- You must have a permanent home address in the UK
- If not a sole trader, the business must have a UK bank account
- The business should have no County Court Judgments against it
- You must be over 18 years old.
- There are no requirements regarding turnover or profitability, but you must have a personal income of at least £20,000 per year.
Interestingly, there are no restrictions in terms of already having other Amex cards (even currently holding a Business Platinum won’t stop you getting the bonus)
Bottom line
This is a genuinely superb offer for a card that is free for the first year – particularly as there are no current/previous card restrictions on receiving the sign up bonus.
