Italian regional carrier Sy Alps, which is due to open a seasonal summer base in Mostar this Thursday, has replaced the aircraft type it will station at the airport. Instead of the initially planned 76-seat Dash 8 turboprop, the carrier will now deploy a 118-seat Embraer E195 aircraft. The change comes amid bureocratic issues with Sky Alps’ Dash 8 fleet. The turboprop will still be utilised on some flights operated to and from Mostar by aircraft outside of the base.
In a statement, Mostar Airport said, “An Embraer 195 aircraft, operated by Sky Alps’ partner airline, will be based in Mostar and connect the city with six attractive destinations: Bergamo, Palermo, Naples, Rome, Bari, and Munich. In addition, a Dash 8 Q400 will provide further operational support, offering greater flexibility and reliability across the network. With a modern fleet, strong partnerships, and a clear growth strategy, Sky Alps is positioning Mostar as a key hub in its summer 2025 network – promising safe, comfortable, and frequent flights to some of Europe’s most popular cities”.
