2025 Alabama Spring Football Offensive Players To Watch on A-Day

This week is the final week of spring practice for the Crimson Tide, culminating with A-Day at noon on Saturday. Although there is no spring game this year, there will be some sort of practice for fans to view. If you are hoping to watch A-Day, you will have to travel to Saban Field at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa because it will not be televised. Even without a scrimmage game, there are plenty of position battles to watch.

QUARTERBACK – Obvious. Right? Despite any videos you may have seen, Ty Simpson appears to have a healthy lead over Austin Mack and Keelon Russell.

WIDE RECEIVER – Isaiah Horton might just be the missing piece of this corps. There has been a great deal of buzz around him this spring. True freshman Lotzeir Brooks has been generating a lot of hype as well. At 6-5, fellow frosh Derek Meadows will be an interesting experiment. Is Jalen Hale healthy? Also of interest is Jaylen Mbakwe who made a position move in the off-season.

TACKLE – Kadyn Proctor (black jersey #74) is nursing injuries and Wilkin Formby is the only other truly experienced tackle participating this spring. Olaus Alinen is hoping to make a move, but it is freshman Jackson Lloyd (#78) who has been turning heads. Young and inexperienced Ball State transfer Arkel Anugwom (#78) is an intriguing addition.

GUARD – Jaeden Roberts seems to have a lukewarm hold on the right guard position but the left side vacated by Tyler Booker is wide open. Geno VanDeMark seems the obvious heir but it won’t be easy. Kam Dewberry (#71) from Texas A&M will have something to say about it. And then there is 5-star frosh Michael Carroll who some are calling a generational talent.

TIGHT END – Coach Kalen DeBoer made what he hopes is a diamond-in-the-rough move by bringing in Peter Knudson from Weber State. With projected starter Josh Cuevas, potential No. 2 Danny Lewis, and freshman Marshall Pritchett all out for the rest of the spring due to injuries, it is looking like a genius move. Can Knudson take advantage of the situation and prove he deserves playing time this fall?

RUNNING BACK – One position that has been pretty quiet is running back. It is assumed that Jam Miller will get the nod, but ULL senior transfer Dre’lyn “Dre” Washington wasn’t brought in just for depth.

Besides quarterback, who are you looking forward to seeing in crimson and white?
