Will any Alabama players hear their name called in next two rounds?
It was an eventful day for Alabama fans yesterday, as Tyler Booker and Jihaad Campbell extended the Tide’s ridiculous streak of 1st round NFL Draft picks. Booker was picked 12th overall by the Dallas Cowboys, while Campbell somehow fell to 31st, only to get picked up by the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. The rich get richer, huh?
There was some chatter that QB Jalen Milroe had a shot to go in the first round, but most have been projecting him as a round 2 pick. He’s the most likely Alabama player to show up on the board today.
Past that, the Tide has a number of other players in the Draft, though I think the rest are all most likely Saturday picks.
- Guard – Tyler Booker – 12th overall, Dallas Cowboys
- Linebacker – Jihaad Campbell – 31st overall, Philadelphia Eagles
- Quarterback – Jalen Milroe – Projected day 2 pick
- Punter – James Burnip – Top punter on the board, maybe as high as 4th round
- Safety – Malachi Moore – Possible day 2 pick, likely day 3
- Tight End – CJ Dippre – likely day 3
- Defensive tackle – Tim Smith – Day 3 to undrafted
- Edge – Que Robinson – Day 3 to undrafted
- TE – Robbie Ouzts – Undrafted, but outside shot of 7th round selection
- Kicker – Graham Nicholson – Not drafted (is he even trying to go NFL?)
- Long Snapper – Kneeland Hibbet – Long snappers don’t get drafted…
The 2nd round of the Draft starts in about an hour, at 6:00 p.m. CT, and will continue to be broadcast on ESPN, ABC, and NFL Network.
