On a really slow news day, area sportswriters descended upon the Regions Tradition Tournament at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham. It is a Seniors Tour event with the likes of John Daly, Davis Love III, Ernie Els, and Bernhard Langer.
Before the real pros tee it up on Thursday, Wednesday was the Celebrity Pro-Am with many local celebrities participating. Among them were Nick Saban, Kalen DeBoer, and Nate Oats.
Saban was paired with Charles Barkley. He spoke a little more in depth with Paul Finebaum:

KDB sounded a little starstruck. No?
He may be an Aubie, but Chuck has respect for the crimson and white. He along with Saban have been the two most-outspoken critics about the problems in college sports.
Also in attendance were Kirby Smart, Greg McElroy, AJ McCarron (and wife), Greg Sankey, UAB head coach Trent Dilfer, Hugh Freeze, Tommy Tuberville, Bo Jackson, and country singers Jamey Johnson and Riley Green (main picture).
Also playing was shark attack survivor Lulu Gribbin who played with a prosthetic leg and arm and she still has a better swing than me.
