Alabama Crimson Tide Softball Heads To #5/6 Texas A&M Aggies

MIDWEEK

Florida State 5, Alabama 2

SCHEDULE

The good news is Auburn (0-6) got swept again last weekend. The bad news is it was against TAMU in Auburn. It would be logical to suspect the Aggies will be a little tougher opponent at home.

  • Friday, Mar 21 at Texas A&M 6pm/7pm College Station, TX
  • Saturday, Mar 22 at Texas A&M 4pm/5pm College Station, TX
  • Sunday, Mar 23 at Texas A&M 1pm/2pm College Station, TX

HOW TO WATCH… ALLEGEDLY

We’ll see if the Aggies have more than one camera angle for crappy SEC+.

TEXAS A&M (24-4, 4-2)

The #6 Aggies have lost just four games. The defeats came at the hands of #13 Oklahoma State (in Clearwater), #12 Texas Tech, and twice to juggernaut Florida. They did take one game from the Gators and also beat the Red Raiders a day after losing to them.

TAMU has also topped strong teams such as UCF, Virginia, Baylor, Florida State twice, and swept Auburn out of the Top 25 rankings.

On paper, Alabama tops Texas A&M in every offensive stat. Pitching-wise, the Aggies have a slight edge. The glaring stats are the fielding efficiencies (deficiencies?). The Crimson Tide has a .954 fielding percentage with a conference high 41 errors. The Aggs are at .969 with 23 boots.

WEATHER

It should be nice weather all weekend in Weirdoville but a smidge windy. We might see some long balls.
