The Alabama Libertarian Party will have candidates on the ballot for the November 8th election, from the Governor’s race all the way down to local county commissioner races. In total, the Alabama Libertarian Party has qualified 69 people.
Some names that appear have run recently before, while many have not.
Ruth Page-Nelson had her name on the ballot for the 2020 Alabama U.S. Senate Election as a Republican, where she finished 5th place. She will face off against current Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth for the Lieutenant Governor race.
Matt Shelby qualified as a Libertarian candidate in the 2018 Alabama State House District 96 Election, ultimately losing out to current state Representative Matt Simpson. Shelby is now in an open race to be the next Secretary of State, as current Secretary of State John Merrill is term-limited.
