
Plenty of sunshine and blue sky visible across Alabama today. Highs this afternoon are surging into the 80s across the state, and overall it is a marvelous Monday of weather for Alabama.
BIRMINGHAM ALMANAC: For April 14th, the average high for Birmingham is 75° and the average low is 52°. The record high is 89° set in 1981, while the record low is 29° set in 1950. We average 0.18” of precipitation on this date and the record value is 3.14” set in 2018.
FRONT TONIGHT: A cold front will move into Alabama overnight, we will see more clouds with the front and there will be a few sprinkles on the radar, but with limited moisture most of Alabama will not see a drop of rain. Behind the front, tomorrow will be cooler with afternoon highs about 10-15 degrees cooler than today. Lingering morning clouds will give way to abundant afternoon sunshine.
ACROSS THE USA: Moderate to heavy snow over northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin today, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan through Tuesday. There is a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms over parts of the Ohio Valley, Central Appalachians, and Mid-Atlantic on Monday. Thunderstorms will be possible across portions of central California and the Four Corners region.
REST OF WEEK: Splendid spring weather for Alabama and much of the Deep South the rest of this week. Expect sunny, dry days with highs climbing from the low 70s Wednesday, to low and mid 80s by Friday. Our coolest morning will be Wednesday with lows in the 40s for most places. By Friday morning, lows will moderate into the low and mid 50s.
WONDERFUL WEEKEND WEATHER: Little change in the weather, and another great weekend of weather is ahead for Alabama. Expect warm and generally dry days with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s.
NEXT WEEK: Our next meaningful chance of rain will come one week from today, next Monday. A cold front will likely bring rain back to Alabama, but for now we aren’t expecting any severe storms due to an upper ridge over the region. Expect above average temperatures through next week as highs will remain in the 80s.
